REPRESENTED BY THE NINE BRITISH ART, BURY STREET, ST JAMES, LONDON
I trained as a Sculpture Conservator (Giudici-Martin) working on classical and modern stone sculpture and allied materials in public and private collection around the UK. Clients, including Chatsworth House, V&A Museum London, English Heritage, The National Trust and private clients.
Teacher Training (Cert Ed) at Warwick University and part time teaching posts at Northampton College, Leicester University RAC and Stamford College followed. Combining Art Education and my own studio practice has formed a rewarding artistic journey.
My work explores the fundamental elements of symmetry and proportion and how they interact with each other.
Experimenting with positive and negative mass (space and solid) is part of the process.. The sculpture finds itself, in a state of flux, in motion, yet static.
Materials include bronze, stone, steel and mixed media.
Robert Fogell Gallery opened in 2006 specialising in Contemporary Art from leading and emerging artists around the UK.
My studio is based at Burghley House Stamford. Studio visits and sculpture commissions are welcome.
A process of creative thinking exploring form and dynamics is the cornerstone of the design formulation. I like to work from sketchbook to maquette building, at the first stage to visualise the finished work. My work explores the fundamental elements of symmetry and proportion and how they interact with each other.
